About the Strategic Planning Unit
The Strategic Planning Unit operates as a central office reporting to the President of the university. It plays a key role in shaping long-term institutional strategy, providing professional guidance, data-driven insights, and analytical tools to support informed decision-making at the executive level.
The unit identifies and monitors academic and societal trends, develops metrics to assess the quality of research and teaching, and leads the university-wide shift toward a culture of data-informed planning and management. Through tailored BI solutions and actionable insights, it enables university leadership and faculties to identify challenges and opportunities in real time and respond with strategic foresight.
In addition to its core functions, the unit responds to ad hoc data requests, supporting internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as the Council for Higher Education and the Central Bureau of Statistics.
Our multidisciplinary team includes academics and experts in different fields. Together, they work to advance excellence and innovation across the university, in close collaboration with academic units, administrative offices, and national bodies.

Over the past three years, under the guidance of the university leadership, the Strategic Planning Unit led the development of a comprehensive long-term strategic plan for the university. The process was informed by global trend analysis, stakeholder engagement, and a deep understanding of the university’s unique strengths and social mission. The resulting plan, approved by the university’s senior leadership and published in March 2025, includes measurable objectives, strategic priorities, and detailed implementation roadmaps. Its execution is expected to continue through 2035.
